Are recycled cartridges inferior to new ones?

No. There should be no difference in the print quality or page yield of a recycled cartridge. We use only graphics-quality toner and replacement parts that meet or exceed the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standard.
Our cartridges are satisfaction guaranteed. If you’re unhappy with the cartridge, we’ll replace it or refund the purchase price.

How does recycling cartridges help the environment?

Recycling laser printer, copier and fax cartridges reduces the amount of non-biodegradable plastic in landfills. Additionally, the manufacturing process to create new cartridges depends heavily on fossil fuels, which are usually imported.

Can I REALLY save money by using recycled cartridges?

Absolutely -- as much as 30 to 50 percent! Depending on the number of cartridges your company uses, your savings can amount to thousands of dollars each year. In fact, LaserEquipment will provide you with a Savings Analysis based on your purchases to show your company’s savings. Drop us a line -- we’ll give you a call.

Is  there a downside to recycled cartridges?

No. Using recycled cartridges saves money, helps preserve the environment, provides a high-quality product, and helps support local small businesses. Most federal and state governments now require the use of recycled cartridges when available.

Why don't more businesses recycle?

Usually due to a lack of knowledge regarding recycled cartridges. The office products recycling industry is relatively new: LaserEquipment has been in business since 1989 and we were one of the first recyclers in the Kansas City area.
We’re working to educate consumers about the value of recycled cartridges. Today, about one-third of all American businesses use recycled cartridges. Through public relations campaigns, local, state and federal legislation, more and more end-users are realizing the added value of recycled cartridge products and services.
We replace worn parts and upgrade others in the cartridge with parts that are often superior in quality and performance to those in a new cartridge.

Am I really helping the environment by purchasing recycled cartridges?

Definitely. Each discarded empty laser printer cartridge adds approximately four pounds of unnecessary waste to our landfills... waste that will take as long as 1,000 years to decompose.
It’s estimated that 100,000,000 laser printer cartridges are produced each year. Recycling these cartridges will save an estimated 4,000,000 cubic feet of landfill space. The office products recycling industry has made a substantial positive impact upon the environment and the economy.

I tried recycled cartridges in the past and they were terrible. I don’t want to get burned again.

Back when the recycling of toner cartridges began, there was little or no technical training available. Recyclers made a poor quality product that caused lots of problems. Add to that the fact that Canon owned the patent on the technology and the cartridge components as well. This meant if recyclers needed to replace parts, they were hard to find and usually of poor quality.
But over the years, patents and contracts have expired, and some of the companies that were previously restricted from selling important after-market parts now produce them, and they do a great job. In fact, many of those companies have made after-market parts that are better than the OEM.
In addition, recyclers have developed new techniques for making cartridges better. The industry has developed a level of expertise that can produce a cartridge of exceptional quality. The cartridges today are “remanufactured,” giving you “like-new” quality and performance.
What does this mean for you? We now have more ways to bring you a better quality toner cartridge than ever before. If you haven't tried recycled cartridges lately, try LaserEquipment’s first-class recycled toner cartridges.

My printer is printing pages with light streaks down the middle. With each page the streak gets wider. What’s the problem?

Your toner cartridge is running out of toner. If you remove the cartridge and gently rock it back and forth, making sure to keep it level, you will redistribute the little bit of toner that remains. You should be able to then print a few more pages before installing a fresh cartridge.

When I get the "toner low" warning on my printer, how many pages can I print before the pages start showing white streaks?

There’s no way to tell for sure. Usually it depends on what type of documents you are printing. If you’re printing documents with a lot of graphics, you won’t get as many pages as if you were printing letters or text documents. Because of this uncertainty, we strongly recommend that you keep an additional "back-up" cartridge on hand at all times. You'll never have to worry about getting caught off guard.

My pages have blotches showing up every few inches vertically down the sheet. What causes that?

The drum has probably worn out. Whenever you experience poor quality prints, replace the toner cartridge first. If the fresh cartridge produces the same poor quality print, there’s likely a problem with your printer. Save an example of the print and call the LaserEquipment Service Department for a service call. When you use LaserEquipment recycled toner cartridges, the trip to your office and the estimate to repair is free. We’ll tell you what the repair will cost before doing any work on your printer.

Will using a recycled toner cartridge void my warranty?

Absolutely not! Federal law prohibits any company or person from requiring you to purchase only their product. The Federal Trade Commission protects your right as a consumer to purchase the product or service of your choice. If any manufacturer tells you that they will void your warranty if you use a recycled toner cartridge, tell them your rights as a consumer are protected under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Subparagraph C, Section 101.

Will I get the same number of printed pages from a recycled toner cartridge that I do from a new cartridge?

You’ll get at least the same number; in most cases, you’ll print even more copies from the recycled cartridge. Our filling equipment allows us to determine the amount of toner that’s put in the hopper. We always put in more toner than is found in an OEM cartridge.
